My name is Mary Sargent and I am a UX Designer with 6 years of experience in media, entertainment and gaming.

I’m deeply passionate about design and its impact within media and tech. Currently, I’m based in Los Angeles and I own a solo design studio, Gothic Moon, that specializes in providing high-level UX design solutions. My expertise lies in designing publishing tools and I've had the privilege to work with reputed companies like The Washington Post and Vox Media.

Before being laid off last February, I applied my skills at PlayStation's Partner Studios where I focused on enhancing the platform experiences for a suite of publishing and development tools.

Additionally, I have a B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Maryland, College Park, and I have completed an intensive UX Design program at General Assembly.

Outside of work, I have many hobbies and interests: I love reading, writing short fiction or playing video games. Recently, I've re-started my art journey and have been spending a lot of my time drawing and painting. I'm also passionate about mentoring. As someone who has benefitted from mentorship in my life, it's important for me to give back. I am a mentor with CareerFoundry and ADPList.
